Snowflakes Tickle. (16.12.8)

Face upturn toward sky
seeking
Past the barren branches of
the winter tree
Into the fogged cloud of faint light
pollution
Flakes hit face in patterns of chaos

Flakes glitter as they dive toward the packed earth
The shine seen through the portable eye shields perched to serve.

They hit scalp and melt
run down nose
across cheek
and dipping past lip

A few brave survivors cling to the outer edges of
The frozen halo of hair
that floats and twists
kinky in the cold
the wind
the damp
the burden of a day’s passing

Face upturn
Seeking

A captured moment of soul

Through winter tree
into cottony sky
Snowflakes hit in patterns
in chaos
Snowflakes tickle.
